UCF Knights Announce 2024-25 Big 12 Basketball Schedule

The UCF Knights men’s basketball team has unveiled their schedule for the 2024-25 Big 12 season, marking a significant chapter as they dive deeper into conference play. This season, the Knights will face a challenging slate of 20 conference games, an increase from the 18 games of the previous season. The schedule matrix, announced jointly by UCF and the Big 12 Conference, includes a blend of home and away matchups against some of the most storied programs in college basketball.

For the 2024-25 season, the Knights will host 10 teams at Addition Financial Arena. These teams have collectively amassed 46 NCAA Tournament appearances over the last decade, underscoring the high level of competition UCF will encounter. The home opponents include BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Utah. Notably, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Utah will make their first appearances in Orlando, adding excitement to the home schedule.

In addition to the home games, UCF will travel to face Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and TCU. The Knights will make their first trips to Boulder and Lawrence as part of these road games. UCF will also visit Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Texas Tech, and West Virginia, marking new destinations for the program. These road games will be crucial as the Knights aim to balance their home and away performance throughout the season.

The 2024-25 Big 12 schedule promises a highly competitive landscape. Eight of UCF’s home opponents finished in the top 50 of the NET rankings for the 2023-24 season, including six teams that were in the top 25. Furthermore, all five home-only opponents were participants in either the NCAA Tournament or the NIT last season. Of the 10 home contests, six teams made the NCAA Tournament, and four won at least one game in March Madness. The combined history of these opponents includes a total of 281 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Last season, UCF achieved notable success in their inaugural Big 12 campaign, securing seven wins in conference play and an additional victory at the Big 12 Conference Championship. The Knights’ victories included notable wins over Texas, No. 23 Oklahoma (who have since moved to the Southeastern Conference), and No. 3 Kansas. UCF’s three wins over ranked opponents were a program record for a single season.

The 2024-25 season will kick off for the Knights on November 4, with their opening game against Texas A&M at Addition Financial Arena. Tipoff times for the game will be announced at a later date.
