Santos FC’s Rodrigo Ferreira Shines with First Assist in Crucial Win

Rodrigo Ferreira Shines with First Assist

Exciting times are here for Santos FC, and Rodrigo Ferreira is soaking in the spotlight. Last Friday (9), he marked a significant milestone by notching his first assist for Santos in their win over Paysandu in Belém/PA. His precise cross led to Guilherme’s header that opened the scoring at Mangueirão. Speaking after the game, Rodrigo couldn’t hide his enthusiasm about his contribution and its impact on the team’s morale.

“It feels incredible to contribute to such a crucial win,” Rodrigo shared with us during Tuesday’s training at CT Rei Pelé. “This victory is a huge confidence boost as we head into the second round. We’ve taken the first step on the road to improving our position in the league. Now, we need to build on this momentum and secure a win at Vila Belmiro against Avaí this Saturday (17) at 4 pm.”

A Strong Bond and Versatility on the Field

The assist to Guilherme was especially meaningful for Rodrigo, as the two have shared a long-standing bond that spans over a decade. “I’ve known Guilherme since before we met our wives, so it’s really meaningful to help him,” Rodrigo said. “Our partnership has been solid since our days at Cotia and Grêmio. We’ve played together at three different clubs, and our friendship extends beyond the pitch. It’s great to see that connection translate into goals.”

Rodrigo’s flexibility on the field adds another layer to his value. Although he’s a right-back by trade, he’s shown a willingness to play on the left side when needed. “I’m here to help wherever the team needs me,” Rodrigo said. “Whether I start or come off the bench, I’m ready to give my all for the team.”

Currently leading the table with 37 points, Santos FC is in top form, boasting the most wins (11 out of 20 games), the best attack with 33 goals, and the highest goal difference at 19. They’re gearing up for their next challenge against Avaí on Saturday, with additional fixtures against Guarani, Amazonas, and Ponte Preta later in the month.
