Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss Believes LeBron James Could Be NBA’s Greatest of All Time

Los Angeles Lakers
Jeanie Buss, the owner and president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers, has witnessed the careers of some of the greatest players in NBA history. From Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jerry West to Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and most recently LeBron James, Buss has seen many legends don the Lakers’ purple and gold.

Buss’s Perspective on LeBron James’s Legacy

After decades of involvement with the Lakers, Buss has had the rare opportunity to observe the evolution of some of basketball’s most iconic figures. While it might seem challenging to impress her given her extensive experience, LeBron James’s recent performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics has potentially solidified his place as the NBA’s greatest of all time (GOAT) in her eyes.
In a recent interview, Buss was asked if she had given any advice to rookie Bronny James, LeBron’s son, as he navigates his basketball journey. Buss noted, “I’ve never had such conversations with LeBron or Bronny, but I maintain a professional boundary—my father is Dr. Buss, and keeping work separate from family helps us. I believe both LeBron and Bronny are well-prepared for their respective paths. I’m excited to see what our new coach, JJ Redick, will bring to the team. It will be an interesting season. As for LeBron, his performance in the Olympics—he might just be the greatest player of all time.”

LeBron James’s Impact and Achievements

LeBron James, the Lakers’ superstar small forward, is in the midst of a remarkable 21st year in the NBA. Over his illustrious career, he has amassed numerous accolades, including MVP awards, NBA championships, and All-Star appearances, and he currently holds the record as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
James’s role in the U.S. men’s basketball team, which won its fifth consecutive gold medal, further underscores his exceptional status. At the Olympics, James, the oldest player on the team, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. With his 40th birthday approaching in December, James continues to demonstrate elite-level performance on the court. Despite having achieved nearly every significant honor in professional basketball, he continues to amaze fans by consistently adding new milestones to his already impressive resume.
