As the 2024 Paris Olympics conclude, attention shifts to the upcoming NBA season. The NBA has released the full schedule for the 2024-25 season, along with key dates to mark on the calendar.

Training Camps and Preseason

Training camps for the 2024-25 season kicked off in late September. The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets, starting earlier than other teams due to preseason games in Abu Dhabi, will hold media day on September 24, followed by their first day of training on September 25. The remaining 28 teams will begin media day on September 30, with their training camps starting on October 1. Boston and Denver will face each other in Abu Dhabi on October 4 and 6 as part of the 2024 NBA Abu Dhabi Games.

Naismith Hall of Fame Weekend

On October 12-13, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will welcome 13 new inductees, including players like Chauncey Billups, Vince Carter, and Michael Cooper, along with contributors such as Jerry West and Doug Collins.

Regular Season Opener

The 2024-25 NBA regular season tips off on October 22. The reigning champions, the Boston Celtics, will host the New York Knicks and receive their championship rings before the game. That same night, the Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Key Matchups and International Games

On October 23, the Milwaukee Bucks will face the Philadelphia 76ers in a game highlighting both teams’ pursuit of redemption after disappointing playoff exits last season.

The NBA Regular Season

Later that day, the Los Angeles Clippers will open their new $2 billion Intuit Dome against the Phoenix Suns, marking an end to their shared arena era with the Lakers.

The NBA continues to expand its global reach with key international games. The Mexico City Game will feature the Miami Heat against the Washington Wizards on November 2, while the NBA Paris Game on January 23/25 will see the San Antonio Spurs face the Indiana Pacers.

NBA Cup and Playoffs

The inaugural NBA Cup tournament starts on November 12, with the group stage concluding on December 3. The knockout rounds, including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final, will take place from December 10 to 17. The regular season wraps up on April 13, 2025, followed by the play-in tournament on April 15-18, leading to the playoffs starting on April 19.
