João Félix is now focusing on the Premier League club as he looks to leave Barcelona. After being placed on Atlético Madrid’s transfer list, the club’s management made it clear they won’t keep him and are looking to sell him during this transfer window.
Barcelona was one of the clubs interested in getting him on loan. But Atlético Madrid rejected that and want a permanent deal for the Portuguese forward.
With talks between Atlético and Barcelona stalled, other clubs are now in the race for Félix. A top Premier League club has entered negotiations and is confident of getting him soon.
Back to Chelsea?
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are back in talks with Atlético Madrid for João Félix. They want to get the deal done this window and are hoping to agree with Atlético.
Félix has played for Chelsea before where his performance was mixed but he scored some big goals for them in their Premier League campaign that season.
Now with Enzo Maresca’s backing, Chelsea are looking to make it permanent. Talks started over the weekend and could get a big boost for the London club soon.
Chelsea’s interest in Félix came after their pursuit of Omorodin failed. Still short of a striker, Félix’s name has popped up as a top option at Stamford Bridge.
As of now, there’s no official offer from Chelsea but talks are ongoing. Félix’s agent is in London and is handling the talks directly with the club and has the player’s permission to work towards a return to the Premier League.
