Following Flamengo’s 1-0 aggregate victory over Corinthians to secure a spot in the final of the Copa do Brasil, commentator Neto has declared his prediction for the 2024 champion. The former player believes that Atlético-MG will triumph over the Rio de Janeiro team in this knockout national final. Additionally, the Corinthians idol expressed his support for Galo home run derby.

“I will be cheering hard and lighting candles for Nossa Senhora Aparecida for Atlético. While we view Flamengo as having the better squad, they are not performing well at the moment. Flamengo has more options, but something tells me that Galo will take this one vaccines. I have a feeling Atlético-MG will be the Copa do Brasil champion,” Neto stated during the “Apito Final” program on Band.

It’s worth noting that Neto has bet against Flamengo twice in this edition of the Copa do Brasil. In the Round of 16, when Flamengo faced Palmeiras, the commentator claimed that the Sao Paulo team would advance and was one of the top candidates for the title. Flamengo and Atlético-MG are set to clash in early November, with matches scheduled for the 3rd and the 10th, both on Sundays. The draw for home and away fixtures will occur on Thursday (24th), at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
