Cindy Ngamba has been nominated for the Sporting Equals Sportswoman of the Year award following her historic bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games barrow in furness.

Her success guaranteed a bronze medal, making her the first athlete from the Refugee Olympic Team to win a medal of any kind at the Games.

“I want to tell the refugees around the world: keep on working hard, keep on pushing yourself, and you can accomplish anything.”

The 26-year-old was narrowly defeated by Atheyna Bylon for a spot in the final, but her monumental achievement remains unmatched .

The British charity Sporting Equals has acknowledged her historic bronze medal, nominating the UK-based boxer alongside other esteemed athletes for this prestigious award.
