Erling Haaland’s Shot at Another Premier League Milestone

Erling Haaland's Shot

This weekend, Erling Haaland has a chance to inch closer to yet another Premier League milestone. When Manchester City takes on Ipswich Town, Haaland will be eyeing an opportunity to extend his remarkable streak of scoring against every team he’s faced in the league.

You can bet Haaland is hoping to see his name in Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup for the match at the Etihad. Ipswich, back in the Premier League after a long absence since 2001-02, will be a fresh challenge for the Norwegian striker. If he finds the net, they’ll become the 23rd different Premier League opponent he’s scored against since arriving in England from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

So far, Haaland has an impressive record—he’s scored against all 22 Premier League teams he’s faced. That’s a feat only one other player has matched. But while this is an achievement in itself, Haaland still has some ground to cover if he wants to catch up to Harry Kane, who has netted goals against all 32 teams he’s faced in the league.

While Kane’s record is impressive, it’s worth noting that several Premier League legends have scored against even more teams—though they didn’t manage to score against every single one. Frank Lampard holds the top spot, having scored against 39 different clubs, narrowly edging out Andrew Cole, who managed 38. Alan Shearer, another Premier League icon, scored against 37 of the 39 teams he played against, only missing out against Birmingham City and Watford.

Thierry Henry was another player who once held the distinction of scoring against every team he faced in the Premier League. From 1999 to 2007, he scored goals against all 34 teams he faced during his initial tenure at Arsenal. However, when he returned to Arsenal briefly in 2012, he missed out on scoring against Swansea City, which broke his perfect record.

As for Haaland, the journey continues this weekend. He’s already made a habit of rewriting records, so don’t be surprised if Ipswich becomes the next team to fall victim to his goal-scoring prowess.
