Caitlin Clark Hits 100th Three-Pointer, Secures Triple-Double in Fever’s 93-86 Win Over Sparks

Caitlin Clark added another milestone to her remarkable rookie campaign, becoming the quickest player in WNBA history to reach 100 three-pointers in a single season. She also notched her second career triple-double, leading the Indiana Fever to a 93-86 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday night.

Clark delivered an outstanding performance with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Her historic 100th three-pointer came midway through the third quarter, marking her second triple of the night. She added two more threes to raise her total to 102, making her the first rookie in WNBA history to hit that mark.

Beyond her three-point shooting, Clark joined an elite group of players by becoming the first WNBA rookie to record multiple triple-doubles in a single season. She now stands alongside accomplished stars like Alyssa Thomas, Courtney Williams, Sabrina Ionescu, and Candace Parker.

Aliyah Boston was equally impressive for the Fever, contributing 24 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Indiana, which secured a playoff spot earlier in the week after losses by the Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky, extended its winning streak to five games. The Fever have also been dominant at home, with a 10-1 record since June 1.

In the final moments of the game, Clark calmly sank two free throws to give Indiana a comfortable seven-point lead with 16.4 seconds remaining. Although Kia Nurse hit a three-pointer on the other end, Clark grabbed the rebound to complete her triple-double and seal the victory.

“I knew I was close to a triple-double, but my focus was on making sure we got stops on defense,” Clark said during a post-game interview.

Clark’s impact was felt on both ends of the floor. In addition to her offensive contributions, she made a critical defensive play late in the game, setting up Boston for a layup that extended the Fever’s lead to 91-84 with just 25.2 seconds left.

Kelsey Mitchell added 18 points for Indiana, narrowly missing her eighth straight 20-point game, while NaLyssa Smith chipped in 13 points.

For the Sparks (7-26), Odyssey Sims led the way with 20 points, while Dearica Hamby and Rae Burrell each scored 16 points. Azura Stevens posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Los Angeles has struggled on the road this season, suffering its fifth straight away loss. The Sparks have now dropped 15 of their 17 road games, searching for answers as the season winds down.
