Bundesliga Teams Learn Their Opponents for the 2024/25 Champions League

The excitement is building as the Bundesliga teams discover their matchups for the 2024/25 Champions League group stage. With the new format, each team will play eight games, facing two teams from each pot twice—once at home and once away.

Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund came from Pot 1, while Bayer Leverkusen, the Europa League runners-up from last season, ended up in Pot 2. VfB Stuttgart, making a return to the Champions League after a decade, is in Pot 4.

For Bayern Munich, the draw is a mix of challenges and opportunities. They’ll face PSG, Barcelona, and Benfica at home, and travel to Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, Feyenoord, and Aston Villa. The final, set for Munich on May 31, 2025, gives Bayern extra motivation to advance and make up for their 2012 final disappointment.

Borussia Dortmund’s fixtures include home games against Barcelona, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Celtic, with away matches against Real Madrid, Club Brugge, Dinamo Zagreb, and Bologna.

RB Leipzig’s group is packed with high-profile opponents. They’ll host Liverpool, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Sporting, while they’ll travel to Atletico Madrid, Celtic, Aston Villa, and Sturm Graz.

Bayer Leverkusen will play against Inter Milan, Liverpool, and AC Milan at home, and head to Atletico Madrid, Feyenoord, Red Bull Salzburg, and Stade Brest.

VfB Stuttgart has a challenging set of fixtures, facing PSG, Atalanta, and Young Boys at home, and traveling to Real Madrid, Juventus, Crvena Zvezda, and Sparta Prague.

Each team’s draw sets the stage for a thrilling Champions League campaign. As we look forward to the matches, there’s plenty of anticipation for how these Bundesliga sides will fare against some of Europe’s best.
